So we eventually made it to San Jose after an epic 43 hours of travelling. Some of our colleagues were lost in customs which added an extra 7 hours to the journey but eventually met up and made it to our hotel.
Day 1 of OSCON provided some good tutorials from people that are either the founders of the technology or who specializes in them. With all the different tutorials on offer I selected to go the Google App Engine and XMPP 101 tutorials. I must admit I have learnt quite a bit with both these tuts. It was very intensive training. I knowledge that I have gained thus far well definately help me with my day job as well as my studies and of course DAS/ASN.
